Entry and Side Doors

Your door is one the first things people notice about your home.

The doors are not just practical features; they’re key to your home’s first impression, offering both aesthetic appeal and security. However, aging doors can detract from your home’s appearance, become less functional, and even pose security risks. Upgrading your entry or side doors can significantly improve your home’s accessibility, enhance security, and boost curb appeal, potentially increasing its value.

When is it Time to Replace Your Doors?

Consider upgrading your entry doors in these circumstances:

  • Visible Damage: Dents, chips, or cracks not only affect your door’s look but its safety and integrity as well.

  • Functionality Issues: Doors that stick, scrape, or are hard to open and close suggest it’s time for a new one. Warping from age can compromise security and insulation.

  • Drafts and Air Leaks: Feeling a breeze or finding leaks around your door indicates worn seals, which can lead to efficiency issues and mold growth.

  • Style Mismatch: If your doors look dated compared to the rest of your updated home, a modern entry door can transform your home’s appearance.

  • Coordinated Upgrades: If you are planning to replace your windows, why not upgrade your entry door at the same time? Upgrading your entry doors could ensure design harmony and potential savings on the project cost.

Types of Doors

Every door we offer at Watson W&D is ENERGY STAR certified:

  • Classic doors a low-cost alternative for interior and exterior doors constructed from MDF (medium-density fibreboard).

  • Oversized front doors are bigger than classic doors. They are built to the homeowner’s custom specifications.

  • Fiberglass doors are made using fiberglass, glass-reinforced polymers found in airplanes. These doors present an excellent option for homeowners who want resistance to fire and insects.

  • Steel doors are made from steel panels with the core of the door filled with polystyrene insulation. Steel doors are a more robust, secure, and efficient alternative to traditional materials such as wood.

  • Double front doors are made by combining two regular doors that can open independently or simultaneously. This is a great design option if you have space for it.
